Some of last year's work...

I used to have a blog on another 'network', but it wasn't very user-friendly, so I switched over to Blogger.com. I have been a bit lazy about transferring my photos over to the new blog, however. Today I pulled a few over, and here they are for you to peek at. The first is a collage of pieces awaiting their final finishing. They are done now and some can be seen if you look into the older posts on this blog. On the bottom is a tiny little flower done on 50ct gauze, using a half-stitch (petit point). I love doing tiny things. The exquisite detail just draws me to it. I will often stitch something 'over one' on 40 ct. even though it calls for over two on a larger weave fabric. I also enjoy stitching small, relatively quick stitches to BAPs that take months to complete. I must not have the patience it takes for the big projects.

Craft table

This is very handy. There is a large ruler embedded in the work surface. The front of the table will have a lighted display case with a glass shelf and glass doors, to show off those beautiful stitched items. On the end is the sewing machine, which hides when not in use, then comes up effortlessly via a hydraulic system.

Construction - Bud's stuff.

Bud's mother is also a stitcher. In her new house she is going to have a craft room to organize her supplies and tools. Bud and she have designed the room around 4 major elements: a hutch, a craft table, a bookcase and a storage area. Here is the hutch. It will be painted white, will have Mary Englebreit knobs on the small drawers, and has daylight lighting for true color viewing. Cool, huh?

Beaded Joy!

I followed a link to this blog, and aside from being a great stitching blog the generous owner is giving away a neat gift in honor of her own birthday! Go here: http://www.ruthsrunningstitch.blogspot.com
